30 weeks

How far along? 30 weeks- AHHHHH - 10 more to go!!! Baby bean weighs as much as a cabbage and is roughly 15.7 inches long.

Total weight gain/loss: Total 16 pounds - up 2 this week.

Maternity clothes? Yes, all I want is to be comfortable these days and I am limited with what I have to wear as far as maternity clothes.  I see no point in buying much more since I only have 10 weeks left.

Stretch marks? Not yet, still using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion.

Symptoms: Back pain at night while getting ready to fall asleep.  I toss and turn a lot to get in a comfortable position.  I have been experiencing more Braxton-Hicks contractions.  They do not hurt, they just tighten up my stomach for about 5 minutes or so.  I try to sit and relax when they happen.

Sleep: In bed by 9-9:30PM - for most part I slept pretty good this week.

Best moment this week: Celebrating Baby Bean with our second shower at our house.  My in-laws did an amazing job, we can't thank them enough.  Also, the closet in the nursery is complete.  I just need to get her clothes washed and then I can start to put things away :) I can't wait to show you the progress we have made to the nursery so far.

Have you told family and friends: Yes

Miss Anything? Wearing heels all day with no pain. I swear my foot got bigger or expanded in the past few weeks.

Movement: For the most part she likes sticking to one position.  She likes to nestle up under my right rib which makes it hard towards the end of the day when I haven been sitting most of the day for work.

Food cravings: None this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Just over eating.

Have you started to show yet: Yes.

Baby is a: GIRL!

Belly Button in or out? It is still in.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and moody this week.  I think the moodiness is due mostly to tiredness.

Looking forward to: Our maternity photo shoot this weekend.

29 weeks

How far along? 29 weeks
I was actually 30 weeks yesterday, but I post these a week behind.

Total weight gain/loss: Total 14 pounds.

Maternity clothes? The sweater dress I am wearing in the photo above was given to me by my sister-in-law.  I am so thankful for her hand me downs - they are great!  Oh and I finally got a few maternity tights.  I found them at Motherhood Maternity and Old Navy.

Stretch marks? Nope, still using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion.  My tummy is super itchy so lotioning helps a lot.

Symptoms: Side pain while sitting for long periods of time (she caters to my right side), and sciatic pain that shoots down my leg.  My back pain has lessened since we got the mattress Friday.  What a difference...we love our BeautyRest Black series.  We will never purchase another Sterns & Foster again, no offense to those who love them, but we honestly had a horrible mattress experience two times - so glad we changed brands.

I also have been experiencing some major acid reflux this week.  I thought I was in the clear, but apparently not.  I am glad it held off this long though.

Sleep: Still the same.  Going to bed around 9PM and waking up at 2-3AM.

Best moment this week: Celebrating Baby Bean with our first shower in my hometown.  She is so loved already, we are very blessed!  I will post about the showers soon.

Have you told family and friends: Yes

Miss Anything? My Green Tea Lemonades from Starbucks.

Movement: She is on the move.  I can see my stomach move a lot now, so that has been pretty cool.

Food cravings: It is not really a craving but all I want are Carbs..UGH!!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Have you started to show yet: Yes.

Baby is a: GIRL!

Belly Button in or out? It is still in there.

Wedding rings on or off? On - still no swelling :)

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but still having crying episodes!

Looking forward to: Our second baby shower on Sunday and our 3D ultrasound Friday <3

28 weeks

How far along? 28 weeks - baby bean is the size of an eggplant this week
Just for reference I am actually 29 weeks today, but I post these a week behind.

Total weight gain/loss: Total 13 pounds, doctors office says 15 pounds.

Maternity clothes? Yes! Still fitting in some of my regular pants, but I really have been wearing my maternity leggings and dresses most of the time.  They are so quick and easy.

Stretch marks? No, still using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion.  I picked up another bottle this week.

Symptoms: Back pain and loss of breath.  We are getting a new mattress this week. We have only had ours about a year now, the coils bent and there is no support beneath us making it so uncomfortable, especially since my belly has gotten larger.  Macy's deemed our current mattress defective, so we are getting a new one.  We are super excited.

My breathing is better, but some days I struggle.  The other day I was on a conference call and had to stop to catch my breath.  My doctor says it it normal at this point in pregnancy.  I don't expect it to get better until baby bean is born.

Sleep: It is okay, I am going to bed early and waking up early AM.

Best moment this week: Being in one of my best friends wedding - so happy for her and her new hubby!

Here is my hubby and I enjoying the festivities.

Have you told family and friends: Yes

Miss Anything? Energy.

Movement: She has been on fire this week flipping and kicking, it has been quite entertaining watching my belly move.

Food cravings: Anything sugar related.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Have you started to show yet: Yeppers! I get the stares now LOL!

Baby is a: GIRL!

Belly Button in or out? Still in but not for long.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, just emotional.

Looking forward to: Lots of things this week...getting our new mattress, carpet being installed in the nursery, our baby furniture getting delivered and my first baby shower in my hometown - exciting stuff! Can't wait to see everyone <3

Nursery Progress

We officially started the nursery! This room was never painted by the previous owners and they had some shelving on the walls and window treatments up when we moved in.  I had some cleaning to do before I started to paint the trim and doors.  There was dust everywhere.  My husband started with taking the blinds and curtains down and outlet covers off the walls.  I patched all the holes on the walls and wiped down the trim.  We decided to update the trim and door color in all the rooms one by one.  So we are sticking with Valspar Du Jour for this room too.  It is a bright clean white color.

Even though we are having a girl, we wanted a neutral color on the walls for a possible future sibling and/or switching to a guest room.  We decided we will use colors like pink and coral to accent the room.

When we moved in, there were no lighting components or fans in any of the bedrooms, and this particular room only has one small window.  I wanted more light and also something that was on a dimmer for those late/early morning feedings.  I fell in love with a chandelier from Home Depot (details below).  I would find amazing chandeliers online, but they came with a pretty steep price tag.  Home Depot had just what I was looking for.  The price was reasonable and looked like all the high end ones I had seen elsewhere.  The below photos show the progress we have made so far.

Before - The baskets you see are planned for closet storage.

New Chandelier - Home Depot (find it here)
My husband took out the closet bar and shelf.  This closet has so much space and the bar was so hard to reach, so my father-in-law built and entire closet system for this closet.  I finally painted the last piece the other day.  He should be installing it soon, so I am excited to see the final result.

Walls before paint
Closet shelving before paint.

Nursery with paint - Valspar Seashell Gray (a very light gray-beige)
Trim - Valspar Du Jour
I will have to take more photos in daylight so you can see it better.  I took these early AM.
Closet before shelving
Paint - Valspar Filtered Shade (a shade darker than Seashell Gray)

It is finally all coming together - what a work in progress.  The results in person are amazing, we really love it.  I can't wait to show you the new closet shelving and carpet once it's in.  We are expecting our furniture this weekend too - stay tuned :)

Hope you are having a wonderful week!

27 weeks - Third Trimester!

How far along? 27 weeks, 7 months - Third Trimester

I have been getting a lot of questions from people asking how do you figure out the weeks and months in trimesters, so here is a chart that really helps with that.

Total weight gain/loss: Still 12 pounds total.

Maternity clothes?  Still loving my maternity dresses from Old Navy, they are great anytime of year.  I love that I can wear them with tights/leggings for the Fall.

Stretch marks? No, I have been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion.
Went through a bottle in a couple of weeks.

Symptoms: Tiredness and out of breath.  I had blood work and my glucose test done this week.  A few of my levels were low and it seems that I am a bit anemic.  The doctor told me to start taking iron supplements - hopefully that helps.  That could be the reason why I almost passed out a few weeks ago and going up the stairs has been a struggle.

Sleep: Sleep is good - although tossing and turning to get comfortable through out the night can be annoying.

Best moment this week: Getting most of the nursery closet shelving painted and ordering carpet!

Have you told family and friends: Yes

Miss Anything? Having a glass of Lambrusco.

Movement: I think I felt hiccups, but not sure.

Food cravings: None this week - wasn't overly hungry.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Have you started to show yet: When people come up to you and comment, you know you are out there :)

Baby is a: GIRL!

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and Moody - a good combo this week.
Just emotional overall.

Looking forward to: One of my best friends wedding this weekend!

26 weeks

 How far along? 26 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Up 2 pounds this week! 12 total.

Maternity clothes?  I went out to lunch with girlfriends this weekend and stopped by Old Navy to check out their sale.  I picked up a shirt and two dresses.  They were running low on certain sizes and quantities, due to the sale, so I will be hitting up their website for online deals.  Their dresses are so comfortable and can be worn dressed up or dressed down...I love them.  I am in need of maternity tights too.  It is Fall and boot season, so they are much needed right now.  If you have any recommendations please comment below.

Stretch marks? No, I have been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion.  I take a bath in this stuff now..tummy, chest, sides and backside - it takes forever!

Sleep: Is much better this week.  Sleeping almost through the night, except for the occasional bathroom run.

Best moment this week: Nursery/closet are painted and chandelier is in....Yaaayy!

Have you told family and friends: Yes

Miss Anything? Not getting winded - I walked up a slight hill the other day and I struggled big time to catch my breath.

Movement: She really likes moving around in the evening.  I swear I can feel her flip around.

Food cravings: None this week - just thirsty all the time.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope.

Have you started to show yet: I grew so much in two weeks, my regular pants will not last much longer.

Baby is a: GIRL!

Belly Button in or out? Still in.

Wedding rings on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy :)

Looking forward to: My doctors appointment next week and going into the third trimester!
