Mailbox Post

I accomplished a small project this weekend, the mailbox post.  It was probably the easiest update I have had thus far.  I was pleasantly surprised how little time it took to apply two coats of paint to the post.  All said and done, I think it took about an hour total.  I did have some help from mother nature with the beautiful weather this past Memorial Day weekend.  My goal is to paint the front door the same color, Valspar Dark Kettle Black in exterior stain/paint.

You can see by the photo below that the previous color was like a maroon/red color.  I wanted a more modern feel, so I chose black.  In updating the post, I came to realize the original color was a hunter green.  The front door is currently still maroon, but was also green at one point in time.  Out with the old in with the new! We added new house numbers in nickle from Lowe's and a solar post light that fit on the post perfectly and gives off great light at night.

I would like to spray paint the mailbox pewter/nickle, but that will have to be a project for another weekend.

Hope you had a great holiday!
