Great Finds - My First Haul!

In Pennsylvania, the Winter has been harsh with the Polar Vortex temperatures and increased snowfalls.  Being cooped up in the house has been fun at times, but can get boring fast too.  I have been chomping at the bit to SHOP and get some new things for the house.  We are waiting to purchase our big ticket furniture items when we have most of the rooms newly painted and updates complete.  So, my only options have been purchasing accessories...which is a lot of fun when you can find what you are looking for or see something that catches your eye.  I actually found some great things within the past few weeks.  I was finally able to get out of our snow covered driveway a few weeks ago to visit my Mom in Bucks County, which is a little over an hours drive from our home.  The great thing about going to visit is getting to see my family, and also the awesome stores close by to one another.

While I was at my Mom's, I found these...

I had been looking for a medium sized sunburst mirror for above our bed.  I found a lot online, but they were extremely pricey.  I loved the ones on Joss & Main, but I couldn't see spending $150 for a small mirror.  I was surprised by the deal I found on this at Homegoods, and it was only $35! It looks great - I can't wait to show you our before and after shots of the bedroom...coming soon.

I have been in search of a laundry basket - they are not easy to come by, especially cute ones.
I found this one at Homegoods for $19.99.  It is great when taking laundry down stairs
to the laundry room.

I looked for similar ones and didn't find any.
They are sold at Homegoods and I saw a few at TJMaxx.

Accessories - well I have been picking up things when I see them.
 Vase - TJ Maxx
Frame - Homegoods
I can sometimes have a great trip to Homegoods and find a lot of things, and go there on
other occasions and find nothing.

This table was such a deal!!! It was originally $80. I was super excited when this was on sale and I got an additional 30% off with my Kohl's coupon. I think I paid $25 for it - I was a happy camper.   My plan is to get an accent chair for our bedroom and this will be placed next to it.

Check out the above link - it is still on sale :)

Pillows, pillows, pillows...I just love them, and guess what? I got them all from Walmart! Walmart has stepped up their home goods line and are really keeping up with trends.  I found two on one shopping trip and the others on another trip.  I am not sure where they will end up in the house yet, but I couldn't resist, every time I go there they are picked through, so this was a great trip.
Plus, they were very inexpensive.
(I might keep the black and cream ones on the bench in the foyer)

Can you tell I love this pattern? I have been looking for a new rug for the front door and found this.  I really love it, just wish they had it in larger sizes.  We have a fairly large foyer and I wanted another as a runner from the foyer to the family room.  I might use this in another room once I find two rugs that will work.  I couldn't pass it up when I saw it, it was reasonably priced too.

I have been in search of a end of bed bench for our bedroom.  I found a few I loved on Hayneedle but was questioning the sizing by the photos.  I wanted something that would be large and tall enough for our king sized bed but was not finding anything that fit.  I finally settled on this one...

Altea Upholstered End of Bed Bench

When UPS dropped the bench off, I was super excited, until I opened it. It was poorly made, so needless to say I was disappointed.  I didn't want to deal with the hassle of sending it back, so I bargained with Hayneedle and they gave me 20% off my order for keeping the bench and fixing it myself.  I moved it to the bedroom and realized we needed something wider and about two inches taller.. it just didn't look right to us.  The bed looked like it swallowed it up.  I then brought it back downstairs and decided to put it in the foyer and was happy with this location!

Have a great week everyone!
